GoSA (Geocachers of South Africa) is a Voluntary Association not for gain, operated by its Members as a Club aimed at promoting the wonderful sport of Geocaching. GoSA was established in 2011 by a group of volunteers in the South African geocaching community when it was found that a separate legal entity was required when planning large events such as Mega Events.
The founding members of GoSA were located in Gauteng, as they were also part of the Mega 2012 Planning Committee. However, initial talks involved members from all over South Africa.
GoSA supports and provides infrastructure to Mega Planning Committees. It has a Constitution and Bank Account, which are essential items to have in place when arranging large scale events from a legal perspective. GoSA also has experienced Members who can offer guidance and advice about Mega planning.
GoSA has an AGM every year which is advertised via the Newsletter and our social media platforms. The financial year-end is 28 February, and its financial affairs are audited.
