In September, Groundspeak introduced a new four-month series called “You might be a geocacher if…” Each month from September through December, you can use the Friend League to individually earn points toward a new Geocacher Personality Souvenir. Are you an Adrenaline Junkie? A Caching Connoisseur? A Social Butterfly? A Trackable Lover? Collect them all to be the ultimate geocacher.

In November, you might be a Social Butterfly if… you like to go to events. If you love meeting all of your fellow geocachers and have a knack for helping newbies fall in love with the game, then you are well on your way to banking the November souvenir. There are already plenty of events planned for November, and we are sure more will still be organised. Check out the upcoming events here.

Film Festival Weekend
One special series of events for November is the GIFF Weekend. From 8 - 12 November 2018, attend one of the 2018 Geocaching International Film Festival screening events to earn the 2018 GIFF Souvenir too. See all the South African GIFF events here.

Cache of the Month

Last month the Jolly Jozi Jol happened - South Africa's 4th Mega. We asked you to nominate a cache created for the event as November's COTM. JJJ Light up the Ridge takes the award as an outstanding and unique multi! For those of you who haven't found it, when are you planning to?

Geocaching made it into the media again this past month, with the Mango Airlines in-flight magazine, Juice, publishing an article about geocaching. You can read all about it here, as well as see various previous articles and radio and TV interviews about geocaching here.
